Roof Area Is Not the Same as House Footprint
A roof surface follows pitch, overhangs and geometry. Using the building footprint as the roof area can understate material because the roof surface is often larger than the horizontal footprint.

Start by calculating the driveway area, multiply it by the planned depth to get volume, then convert that volume into the unit used by your supplier. Add a sensible waste allowance and check the result against the way the material is sold. The point is not to produce a perfect number from imperfect measurements. It is to get an order quantity that is defensible and easy to adjust.
Cubic yards measure volume. Tons measure mass. A gravel estimate can use either, but the conversion depends on the material density and supplier specification. Calculate the volume first, then convert using the product information that matches the gravel you are actually buying.
A useful fence cost estimate separates the line items that actually drive the job: fence length, material type, posts, rails, fasteners, gates, labor, removal, site work and a visible waste or contingency allowance. That makes the number easier to compare with supplier quotes and customer budgets.
Tell us what you are trying to build, what problem you are solving and where the digital part becomes difficult. Martzine is built around that gap. Start with the outcome and the constraint, then work back to the right digital layer.
